Food Processing Skills Canada is the Canadian food and beverage manufacturing industry’s skills training and workforce development non-profit, national organization. We are experts in preparing jobseekers and employers to connect by delivering proven training and matching skill sets. Our employer partners are located across Canada and they are looking for trained individuals to start exciting job and career opportunities.
We have designed a 22 online course program curriculum that delivers the right training to start a career in Canada. Our focus is on Canadian cultural norms, employability, and the day-to-day workplace environment, in addition to food safety practices, rules and regulations.
The training is self-paced and takes approximately 54 hours. On completion, participants will receive 12 Canadian-recognized certificates and formal transcripts for sharing with employers and adding to your resume.
Program participants will learn the following:
- Business etiquette and cultural norms.
- An understanding of Canada’s diverse workplace.
- Good manufacturing practices.
- Regulatory responsibilities and how to identify hazards.
- How to manage food spoilage and food safety.
- Sanitation, chemical safety, and cleaning practices.
- How to manage your time and job tasks.
- How to develop your cover letter and resume, and how to success in a job interview.
- The preliminary steps toward HACCP, as well as the principles of a HACCP Plan.
- The fundamental concepts of food fraud and food authenticity.
- How to managing recalls effectively, and how to ensure food safety.
- Internal audit systems, including definitions, planning phase, implementation and monitoring.
